Top 5 Ways to Promote Your Products Online Using Google Groups

Google Groups are an amazing way to promote your own products or even affiliate products for FREE! They can be found at groups.google.com. Google Groups is extremely user-friendly and can be setup in just a couple of minutes.

1. The first, and by far the most important tip I can give you to really succeed with Google groups is to not join groups that involve "making money from home." This is the biggest mistake that I see other internet marketers make while using Google groups to promote business opportunity products. You need to think outside the box when deciding what groups to join. I have found that groups like "moms" or "stay at home moms" work great. Also College Groups, etc... Any group that is indirectly related to the product or service you are trying to promote but not directly related. The reason for this is that there is just way too much competition in groups like "make money from home" and people are trying to pitch products all day long!

2. Try and find groups that have between 100-199 members. You want to look for groups with this many people because it will give you a much better chance to really establish credibility with the members of this group and become their friend. If you can't make a personal connection with the members of the group, you will have a very tough time selling to them.

3. Also find groups with less than 1000 messages per month so that your messages will be seen. This is another mistake I see so many internet marketers make. They go for groups with thousands upon thousands of messages, thinking they have a bigger market to sell to. All this means, is that there message they post is very unlikely to be read. So again, find groups with less than 1000 messages. In this case, quality is better than quantity.

4. Do not spam the group with your offer. You need to become friends with the members in the group and earn their respect and trust before you start promoting your product. Use non-threatening posts like "Hello Everyone." The general rule I like to use is to make at least 5 friendly informative posts that would be helpful to the people in your group. For example, I just joined a "Stay At Home Moms" group and the first thing I did was introduce myself to the group. The second post I made was a link to a video called, "mom catches her toddler singing along to Britney Spears." As you can see, this a very non-threatening funny post that moms would enjoy because it relates to them.

5. Another great resource I use is Digg.com. This site is very helpful because you can search for things that relate to the groups you are a member of and find out what the most popular topics are and then share them with your group. You look for the topics with the most diggs, and then repost them with your new friends in your Google group.

When it's time to make a post about your product you are promoting, you want to make it sound very friendly and unique. Something I like to use is, "Has anybody heard of this guy" as the title. For the body, you can say something to the effect of "My friend sent me this link this morning and told me she has been making a great income from home with this guys coaching! I'm thinking about trying it! Check it out and let me know what you guys think!!" You have already earned the respect and trust of these members in your group so they will definitely want to go see what this new product is.

Remember, Make Friends First in the groups you join and give people helpful info that will improve their lives. They will respect whatever you tell them in the future. It's all about building friendships before promoting a product. I can't stress this enough!
