How to Market Your Business Online Using Google Groups

Groups is a fun and easy way to market your business online. Better yet, it's free, and once you learn how to do it, you can easily market your business for plenty of traffic and sales.

The first step in getting started is to sign up for a Gmail account. This is free, and it will allow you to use most of Google's services with one account. Once you have signed up for your account, then sign in and go to the Groups site.

Groups allows you to connect with other people on just about any topic you can imagine. There are groups that accept articles, free classifieds, and there are also plenty of discussion groups.

(One of the things I would recommend you do after you create your Gmail account is to create a folder for your Groups messages. Once you have created this folder, route all of your Groups messages into this folder. This will make it easier for you to read the messages and do your marketing.)

Next, you want to find groups that are related to what you want to do. If you are looking for places to post your articles, then you will want to look for groups that accept articles on your topic.

Read the rules of the group very carefully. One of the secrets to getting the most from this marketing technique is to follow the rules of group you join. By following the rules, you will get better results. Sending messages that are unrelated is spam. Posting more than you are allowed will only get you banned.

Once you have found five to 10 groups you want to join, join the groups. You will need to confirm that you are joining. You may also join other groups at a later time. However, don't go overboard on joining groups. Otherwise, Google may think you are spammer and ban you.

Add the message submission email addresses to your Gmail account. This will help you keep track of the groups you are a part of. It will also allow you to send to your groups directly from your email account.

The easiest way to do this is to create your article or ad according to the appropriate format. Copy and paste the promotional material into an email message and send to the appropriate email addresses.

Tools like Roboform or email clients that allow you to send email individually will help you speed up this process. Again, it is important that you follow the rules of the group to avoid getting banned.

Participate in discussion groups that are related to your topic. Try to provide valuable information to the other members of your group. Don't send advertisements to the group unless it is allowed. Include a signature in your message with a link to your site. Only include affiliate links if they are allowed.

Google Groups is a great way to meet those who are interested in the same topics you're interested in. Build relationships with other group members and provide solutions that are helpful and solve other group members' problems. This will help you make the sale.
