How to Promote Products Or Services on Google Groups?

If you are starting your own online business, then probably you do not have much money to spend. Google Groups, is one of the free ways that you can promote products or services. This article will help you with that.

When promoting a product or service, in order to succeed is important to show it to as many people as possible. If it is targeted people, your conversion rate will be even higher.

Google Groups is a website created by Google, that host millions of forums. You can find literally everything you want. So, there are many people and you can get targeted people (choosing the right forum, will get you target people ). Combining these two you are on the right direction to be successful.

Lets suppose you are promoting an weight loss product. At the time i am writing this article, there are 9.890.000 forums about weight loss. How the hell will you find the best ones? There is a way...

We will focus on 2 things: forum users and posts per month. For the forum user, anything above 100 is good. Now here, is where many people commit a mistake. When you see like 20.000 posts per month, do you think is good? If your answer is yes, then you are wrong. Forums like these are full of spam. Even if you try to post there, people are posting so fast that what you post won´t have the time to be read for someone else. The trick is to choose forums with less than 1000 posts per month. This way you know that probably won´t be any spam on the forum.

Now that you found a good forum what do you do? Start spamming your product? NO! This method is not a direct one. In order to succeed here, you should create a bond between you and the forum users. Present yourself and write some useful information that will help people. After 5-10 medium/good posts, then you post a very nice and compelling threat talking about the benefits of your product or service. Then you write some 5-10 posts helping people, then promote again and so one. This way you are not spamming, you are creating a bond and promoting at the same time. This can be very powerful.

Hope this could help you somehow. Until next time. Take care.

How to Use Yahoo and Google Groups to Generate Buzz Online

Yahoo! Groups

The Yahoo! Search engine offers a groups forum. You can join using the same email address and password that you use for Yahoo! Mail. Once, into a Yahoo! Account you will have various options, and Groups will be one of them. You can browse a category list of Yahoo! Groups if you're not sure which ones you want to join. They have major categories and when you click in they show you the popular groups in that category at the top with the rest listed too. If you don't want to browse the groups by categories, you can also put in a search term to search through the Yahoo! Groups and find ones that are relevant to your market niche. You can join multiple groups and usually the larger groups with more members will provide better exposure.

The way Yahoo! Groups work is that you can sign up to receive individual email updates of new posts or they will send you a daily digest of all posts for the day. You can also choose not to receive any emails and simply respond to groups online. You may have to be accepted into the group by a moderator, if it is a closed group. You generally want to stay within public forums for the most part, though.

You can set up a profile of yourself for your username. There, you can also list your website and other information that might bait someone into visiting your website. Once in, you do have to follow the guidelines for posting or risk being banned from the group.
Google Groups

Google groups are a little more sophisticated with integrated email and customized web pages you can set up as an individual. You can even set up shared web pages where a number of people on the group develop the page for themselves. You're able to change the color and style of the group more than the Yahoo! Groups. You can upload files and really set about to generate interest from various media, not just your written posts. You can search for groups using the search engine and pull up the group you are interested in joining this way. The group directory is far easier to see in one shot. It tells you how many groups are in each category too. Once you get into the group front page, it tells you how many members and a little more about the group. Like Yahoo! Groups, you can set up a profile page for targeted. You are also able to put in your website URL and the address to your RSS feeds online.

Facebook Groups

You have to join Facebook to join one of their groups. Once you build a profile in Facebook, you can start looking through the groups available to join on the left-hand menu on the old interface, and on the right-hand menu on the new Facebook interface. In Facebook, you can see the groups that your friends recently joined as well as the ones that you joined on the front page. You can browse the rest of the groups by selecting the menu link that says "Browse Groups." Then you can see a listing of categories, much like Google and Yahoo! Groups. They have a drop-down menu for the main type which separates the groups into different major categories, and then they have a list that allows you to pick the subtype. Just make sure that you are in the Global network so that you don't limit the groups that show up.
Creator Or Contributor?

Anyone is able to join a group or create a group. There are advantages to either. You can be both a creator and a contributor of different groups. So, you might want to try things out and see how you fare either way. It's usually far easier to contribute to an existing group that is popular and climb the ranks than it is to create your own group and nurture it into a popular format with plenty of members. But, that's not always the case.

If you happen to already be a leader in a civic or social organization offline, then it can be extremely easy to start a new group online and invite these people to be the seed starter group for your online group. Once people see that other people have already joined your group and are knee deep in discussion, they will be more willing to join your group too. And, there are additional benefits to being the creator of a group rather than just a contributor.

When you contribute to a group, there will be group moderators most of the time who take care to make sure no one spams the group or tries to solicit anyone. This limits the activity you can do for your website marketing in these groups to mostly a link every now and then in a post and your signature line pointing back to your products or website. People who are regulars to the group will get pretty used to seeing your signature and soon they won't even bother to read it. So, that's really only effective for newer people who might be wondering who you are. You can get some traffic this way, but promoting your products in a group will not be allowed.

On the other hand, if you are the creator of the group and you have sufficient people there, you have a captive audience for any website or product promotion you want to do because you are effectively the moderator. You can keep people from posting their marketing material, but you have targeted reign to decide what links and posts are allowed so you can use the group to advertise your products too. That's the biggest benefit to being the creator of your own group.

Top 5 Ways to Promote Your Products Online Using Google Groups

Google Groups are an amazing way to promote your own products or even affiliate products for FREE! They can be found at groups.google.com. Google Groups is extremely user-friendly and can be setup in just a couple of minutes.

1. The first, and by far the most important tip I can give you to really succeed with Google groups is to not join groups that involve "making money from home." This is the biggest mistake that I see other internet marketers make while using Google groups to promote business opportunity products. You need to think outside the box when deciding what groups to join. I have found that groups like "moms" or "stay at home moms" work great. Also College Groups, etc... Any group that is indirectly related to the product or service you are trying to promote but not directly related. The reason for this is that there is just way too much competition in groups like "make money from home" and people are trying to pitch products all day long!

2. Try and find groups that have between 100-199 members. You want to look for groups with this many people because it will give you a much better chance to really establish credibility with the members of this group and become their friend. If you can't make a personal connection with the members of the group, you will have a very tough time selling to them.

3. Also find groups with less than 1000 messages per month so that your messages will be seen. This is another mistake I see so many internet marketers make. They go for groups with thousands upon thousands of messages, thinking they have a bigger market to sell to. All this means, is that there message they post is very unlikely to be read. So again, find groups with less than 1000 messages. In this case, quality is better than quantity.

4. Do not spam the group with your offer. You need to become friends with the members in the group and earn their respect and trust before you start promoting your product. Use non-threatening posts like "Hello Everyone." The general rule I like to use is to make at least 5 friendly informative posts that would be helpful to the people in your group. For example, I just joined a "Stay At Home Moms" group and the first thing I did was introduce myself to the group. The second post I made was a link to a video called, "mom catches her toddler singing along to Britney Spears." As you can see, this a very non-threatening funny post that moms would enjoy because it relates to them.

5. Another great resource I use is Digg.com. This site is very helpful because you can search for things that relate to the groups you are a member of and find out what the most popular topics are and then share them with your group. You look for the topics with the most diggs, and then repost them with your new friends in your Google group.

When it's time to make a post about your product you are promoting, you want to make it sound very friendly and unique. Something I like to use is, "Has anybody heard of this guy" as the title. For the body, you can say something to the effect of "My friend sent me this link this morning and told me she has been making a great income from home with this guys coaching! I'm thinking about trying it! Check it out and let me know what you guys think!!" You have already earned the respect and trust of these members in your group so they will definitely want to go see what this new product is.

Remember, Make Friends First in the groups you join and give people helpful info that will improve their lives. They will respect whatever you tell them in the future. It's all about building friendships before promoting a product. I can't stress this enough!

If you would like to learn more about the power of Google groups or many other ways to drive massive amounts of traffic to your websites, I suggest using a private online coaching club like the Maverick Billionaire Club. Here you can watch hours of FREE videos that will make you an internet marketing guru [http://www.maverickbillionaireclub.com] in no time. This is where I learned everything I know. I have since quit my day job as a professional golfer and work from home full time teaching others to do the same.

7 Steps to Increasing Your Web Site Traffic with the New Improved Google Groups

Google Groups as a communication tool is plenty fun and useful, as is. But can you get a bit of a traffic boost as well?

Sure. Sometimes not in the way you think...

1. Join

Join Google Groups if you haven't already. Join discussions if you haven't in a while. It's going to be more difficult to apply theory to an experience you haven't had. The Google Groups experience is similar to participating in forums, but it's not exactly the same thing.

And, as we say in Vegas, you can't win if you don't play.

2. Participate

You're not going to make much happen by lurking. Say something smart. Get to know other people. Start a group of your own in an area that's needed and invite people you know.

Not an expert? So what. Ask questions instead and expand your knowledge. If you don't want to become a guru, you can always find one to interview through Google Groups and then post it on your site as a traffic draw.

And guru or not, the more your name is out there, the more people will be curious about your profile, or your link, and end up at your site.

3. Leave a link in your signature - where appropriate

In some Google Groups, such as those set up for article distribution, you'll be encouraged to leave your link. In others, you may be specifically asked not to do so. Learn the rules of each group and abide by them.

4. Fill out your profile.

This is new at Google Groups. There's a space where you can talk about yourself, and put your web link. No matter how restrictive the group is about web links, no one can keep you from putting your link in your profile.

Remember to be specific about what you do at some point in your "About Me" space.

5. Find Groups that are made for promotion and networking

How? Search for phrases like "submit articles", "network" or "promote". Groups that have these in their description are going to be of great help to you. Then sort by topics you're interested in or knowledgeable about as well.

Once you find these groups, don't be afraid to jump in and take action. Read the guidelines if the group has them, and dive right in - that's why they were created.

6. Identify Your Fellow Power Users

Few people talk about this step. I find though, that a great way to learn the smart thing to do is to look at what the people smarter than me are doing, not to mention how they're getting things done..

Many of these power users are your competition outside of Google Groups, or people you'll want to partner with there and elsewhere, whether they're moderators, owners, or just really active participants

Be the person who brings something to the table and it could mean many future opportunities to publicize yourself.

7. Stealth Study

This is a more in-direct method. Put some creative thought behind it, and it will give you priceless insight into what your potential clients want. It might even help you decide what your next product's focus should be.

In the top navigation of Google Groups, next to your name, you should see a link for "My Groups". Within the menu, you should see an envelope next to a link that says "Group Alerts". (If you have Google Alerts, you can also get to this from there.)

You can set this up to send you an email every time a certain topic is mentioned in a Google Group discussion. Then you can quickly join the discussion if you can provide the answer, or just make your own private knowledge base of common questions.

I like to think of Google Groups as a neighborhood of communities. The central point of its existence is discussion, but there's no problem with posting the signs to where a discussion can be continued elsewhere - so long as you don't litter the street with your flyers.

How to Market Your Business Online Using Google Groups

Groups is a fun and easy way to market your business online. Better yet, it's free, and once you learn how to do it, you can easily market your business for plenty of traffic and sales.

The first step in getting started is to sign up for a Gmail account. This is free, and it will allow you to use most of Google's services with one account. Once you have signed up for your account, then sign in and go to the Groups site.

Groups allows you to connect with other people on just about any topic you can imagine. There are groups that accept articles, free classifieds, and there are also plenty of discussion groups.

(One of the things I would recommend you do after you create your Gmail account is to create a folder for your Groups messages. Once you have created this folder, route all of your Groups messages into this folder. This will make it easier for you to read the messages and do your marketing.)

Next, you want to find groups that are related to what you want to do. If you are looking for places to post your articles, then you will want to look for groups that accept articles on your topic.

Read the rules of the group very carefully. One of the secrets to getting the most from this marketing technique is to follow the rules of group you join. By following the rules, you will get better results. Sending messages that are unrelated is spam. Posting more than you are allowed will only get you banned.

Once you have found five to 10 groups you want to join, join the groups. You will need to confirm that you are joining. You may also join other groups at a later time. However, don't go overboard on joining groups. Otherwise, Google may think you are spammer and ban you.

Add the message submission email addresses to your Gmail account. This will help you keep track of the groups you are a part of. It will also allow you to send to your groups directly from your email account.

The easiest way to do this is to create your article or ad according to the appropriate format. Copy and paste the promotional material into an email message and send to the appropriate email addresses.

Tools like Roboform or email clients that allow you to send email individually will help you speed up this process. Again, it is important that you follow the rules of the group to avoid getting banned.

Participate in discussion groups that are related to your topic. Try to provide valuable information to the other members of your group. Don't send advertisements to the group unless it is allowed. Include a signature in your message with a link to your site. Only include affiliate links if they are allowed.

Google Groups is a great way to meet those who are interested in the same topics you're interested in. Build relationships with other group members and provide solutions that are helpful and solve other group members' problems. This will help you make the sale.

Google Groups

Some very early users of the Internet - not the worldwide web as we know it today - but the Internet from the early 1980s, will have heard of, and likely used, Usenet. This was the collective name applied to text-based electronic bulletin boards that were used to communicate in the days before the web and email existed, and that are still in use today. The Usenet posts were first collected and organized for worldwide web use in 1995, by a company called Deja News. In 2001, Google bought Deja News and applied their considerable search expertise to Usenet posts. The result is Google Groups.

There are well over 30,000 Google Groups today. These are hosted on servers all over the world, and Google Groups provides a browser-based interface to them, as well as creating searchable archives. From a very clean interface, users may search any of the various subsections of Google Groups. In the same way a clothing web site may be divided into sections for men's, women's, and children's wear, Usenet is divided into sections such as biz (business related), comp (computer related), humanities (art, literature related), and so on. From there, subsections may be divided into more specialized sub-topics where necessary.

Sadly, many Google Groups are now spammer hangouts more than anything else. Widely available web access and programs that can automatically post to thousands of newsgroups in just a short while have destroyed much of the original spirit and usefulness of the Usenet groups. And parents need to know that on some sections of Usenet there are some very inappropriate topics that have been started over the years, so they should exercise due caution in protecting their children from those sections.

For those who don't mind a bit of digging through the virtual trash can, there are still many, many useful and active Google Groups, full of friendly, helpful people, so be sure to check out this often-overlooked resource.

Connecting With Google Groups

If you like to express your ideas or learn from the ideas and experience of others, you can do it all from the comfort and privacy of your own home. All you need is Internet service and an email address.

Google Groups is a great way to connect with others, or create your own connection. Since the majority of households have Internet service, you can easily stay in touch and keep a large group of people updated easily. Here's how it works:

If you just want to see what groups are out there and browse through or join a group that interests you, you can look at the list of thousands of groups to find one that best suits you. First, find "groups" under the "more" link at the top of the Google home page. From the Google Groups home page, you'll see the top group categories, like Arts and Entertainment, or News Groups. You can click one of these links, or click "Browse group categories..." to see all the possible options.

There are multiple ways to narrow down the groups you would like to peruse. Each Heading (in bold) demonstrates a method by which you can narrow down the selection. Under each heading is every possible category. Each of these category titles can be clicked on to narrow down your selection. You will notice that behind each title is a number in parentheses. This shows you the number of groups in that category. Here is a list of all the headings, and different ways to narrow down your search.

*Region.

If you want to look for groups that are specifically in your country, you can start by selecting your country from the list. Keep in mind that groups originating in other countries may still have groups speaking your language.

However, on the other hand, if you wish to only discuss interests that concern you locally, you do want to narrow down by region. When you click on your country, you will see more specific results under the "Region" heading, for example, clicking on "United States" will then break down the groups by state.

*Topic.

This is an excellent way to narrow down your selection of groups. Pick a broad topic, like Science and Technology. From there, you will see a listing of subtopics under the same heading.

*Messages per Month and Members.

These heading filters the groups for their size and frequency of updating. Usually these are correlated, so you can probably just narrow down your results with one or another. Look for a large group that updates very frequently if you want a group that is highly active and will keep you on your toes. If you don't want to be overwhelmed, you can choose smaller groups who update less often.

*Language

You might want to click this one first. There's no sense in searching under other filters and finding just the group you want, only to find out the only group is in a foreign language!

*Days since last post

This will give you a clear indication if the groups are still active. You may want to click on one of the smaller numbered brackets to immediately eliminate groups that have been inactive for some time.

To find groups, start by clicking on a few obvious filters in which you want to find groups of interest. You will see across the top the filters that have been added so far (and a small "x" if you want to remove that filter). You can also search for groups from the search bar at the top of the page.

Using Google Groups for SEO

Google Groups is a free groups and mailing list service from Google that can help you garner information for SEO such as keywords and topics for articles or topics and chapter themes for eBooks. It is simply a way of searching for and bringing like-minded people together. So if you have a website that is selling gardening tools then joining and creating groups about gardening is a good idea on Google.

Using Google Groups, one can find groups related to the interests of your business and participate in threaded conversations. The idea is to link these to your site as they will be studded with the kind of keywords that search engine spiders love to index. You can also find groups of people who are just simply engaged in different hobbies and create a viral informational product to be distributed for free to them.

Anyone who creates viral informational products will immediately recognize the value of this tool and its potential to create polls and surveys. The results of these information gathering sessions can then be mined for organic keywords or the topics that are revealed can be used to structure the table of contents for a viral e-book.

Google groups can also help you find customers by creating your own group that is related to something that you sell. You can also create a sense of community by asking people who visit your site to join your group

Another way to increase your customer base using Google groups would be to ask people from other groups to join your groups using online invitations. However as is true with any mail-to-mail situation be careful not to spam.

Besides posting to the group through the Google Groups web interface, users also can post to a group by sending an e-mail to the group's e-mail address. You can also create your own group and access Usenet newsgroups dating back to 1981.

Creating a Group on Google Groups

Google Groups is a great way for you to connect with family, clubs, teams, organizations, and businesses. Since most people have Internet service and an email address, they should be able to participate. Here's how to get started:

1. Decide on a name for your group. You can make it something simple and easy to remember, or try to be creative and fun to catch people's attention.

2. Go to google.com/groups and click the "Create a group..." button on the right side. You will see a form to fill out basic information about your group.

3. The first section is for the name of your group. When you type your group name, the group email and website address is automatically filled in matching the group name exactly. For example: Belleview 4-H Club would be belleview-4-h-club at googlegroups.com and the web address would be groups.google.com/group/belleview-4-h-club. You can leave the email and web address the way it is, or edit them from the email address box.

4. Next, specify whether your group may contain adult content, and whether you want your group to be public or private. There are more details on this page to clarify what these options mean.

5. Click "Create my group" at the bottom.

6. You will be redirect to a page where you need to type random characters so they know you are human (robots can be created to set up accounts, but can't read these letters and numbers). Type the characters, then click "Create my group" again.

7. Now you can type the email addresses of all the people you would like to add to your group. You can write a personalized message telling your friends/family/colleagues what the group is about, etc. Google will automatically send out email invitations to your potential group members when you click "Invite Members", or, you can click "Skip this step" to do this later. NOTE: If you have already discussed this group with the members that will be joining, you can add them without inviting them. If this is the case, click "Add members directly" and type their email addresses in the box below and check the email subscription options below. Each email will begin receiving messages and notifications from the group right away. This will save the members the step of accepting your invitation before they can start getting messages. This feature should not be used unless you are certain that the members already want to be a part of your group.

Now your Group is ready to begin! Here are some additional options you will have to use and customize your group:

*Start a discussion-all you need is a title and topic and you can get started getting the group underway. You or a group member can start one or multiple discussions at a time of about issues and topics that interest you as a group. They can be serious, funny, interesting, an appeal or mandate, a brainstorming session, etc.

*Add or Invite members-as your circle of friends or club grows, more people can be a part of the group. You may want to invite parents, sponsors, and other interested parties to your group.

* Create pages-this group is a website, and websites have pages. You can have an info page, fun page, or have a mission statement or rules page, etc.

*Upload files-if there are minutes, fliers, photos, etc. that would contribute to your group, you can upload them for everyone in the group to view.

*Customize the group settings-you want your group to be unique, and your pages to have their own look and feel that will suit the interests of the group. Here you can make advanced changes to who has access to what, the appearance of the site (colors, layout, and theme), set up categories, and many other changes.

To The Next Level With Google Groups 2

If you haven't visited the Google Labs lately, they have released a beta of Google Groups 2 that you may want to check out. This is Google's answer to Yahoo Groups, and they've added some new features to make their service more useful.

For those who don't know, such groups allow anyone to easily and quickly start their own announcement lists and discussion forums. There is no need to install scripts or anything else on a web site, and no technical knowledge beyond email and posting to a discussion board is needed. If you want, you can use Google Groups to post to and read Usenet postings as well.

Of course, nothing is truly free, and Google Groups is no different. In exchange for making the technology available to host your group, Google displays relevant text ads on your group's home page on Google. "Relevant" is determined by the content of your Google Group discussions. This is the same type of technology used by Google to display AdSense advertising on web sites and relevant text advertising on their free Gmail email service.

The process to create a group is fast and painless. Just create your group's name and email address, and invite your members to join. You are able to make your group either public or private, and Google has provided a new interface so that you can see your group's postings sorted any of several different ways. The Beta 2 Google Groups also features dynamic conversations, with both Usenet and mailing list postings created within 10 seconds, and indexed within 10 minutes from post.

Families, old college running buddies, online communities, and many others may find benefit in using Google Groups, and the Beta 2 release is worth a try.

Drive Quality, Free Traffic With Google Groups

So, I've been testing a new method of generating free traffic to a couple of my websites and have to say that utilizing Google Groups as a traffic generation method proved quite effective. Despite the somewhat "spammy" nature of the idea, it's quite possible to generate highly targeted traffic utilizing the power of Google Groups. Google Groups is an entity of the Google algorithm, which allows people to create niche communities. There are millions of Groups on Google and finding them is quite simple.

To begin driving free quality traffic to your website utilizing Google Groups, follow these three simple steps (requires gmail account):

Step 1: Visit Google.com and type in your area of interest (make money online for instance). Once Google displays relevant results, simply click the "more" tab on the top of the web page.

Step 2: You're now displaying Google Groups, congratulations. Choose a group that you feel a best fit. One key aspect to keep in mind is that you shouldn't go after the largest groups you can find. Reason being is that they're too saturated, your link won't stick and may possibly be removed as spam. Your goal is to find a group with a reasonable amount of members, but not an overwhelming amount. My comfortable zone is around the 300-700 member area.

Step 3: Once you've found your group, join in. Once you've joined, you'll be able to post a new topic to the group, by clicking the "new post" selection. Wen posting your topic, ensure you use an enticing subject line. If your goal is to attract attention, use something like "Have a Computer? Make Money", something that's going to grab attention, but not come across as spam. In the message field enter a small amount of text. "Check out some of the free ways I can show you how to make money online'', followed by your website URL. The beautiful thing about Google Groups is that once you've submitted your posting, all member are automatically updated, in real time of a new post. This means emails to valid addresses, which are highly targeted, based on that particular group.

I completed some testing with Google Groups on another website of mine and showed a considerable amount of new visitors stemming from Google Groups, with only a few links being posted. Google will only allow you to join 10 groups at a time. Choose your groups wisely, post eye catching material and reap the benefits. Happy posting.

How to Promote Products Or Services on Google Groups?
